Description
This superb book is a fascinating volume that discusses the folk songs used in seventy-nine of the greatest concert band works of all time. Each of the seventy-nine band works contains at least one folk tune, and some of the band pieces contain a number of folk tunes.

Each tune presented in this book includes: 1) the historical background of the tune; 2) the melody line of the tune; and 3) the lyrics of the tune. With this book in your library, you'll be able to research and understand the band pieces you perform or conduct, and will be able to better interpret the literature as you and your group perform the pieces. "A Catalog Of Folk Song Settings For Wind Band" weighs 22.08 oz.
